Fiona Cairns Ltd was commissioned to make the Royal Wedding Cake for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge last year and has supplied Waitrose for more than twenty years.
To mark the opening of the Springfield Street store, Fiona Cairns will be giving away 1,000 limited edition Leicestershire-inspired fairy cakes with designs including Market Harborough’s Old Grammar School Building and the Leicestershire Fox.
Fiona will officially open the store with Meadowdale School pupil, Zoe Morgan-Williams, who created the winning entry for a Waitrose design a bag for life competition. One thousand of the jute bags will be given away free to customers from Saturday 29 September 2012.
